Welcome to Northern Propane Services, where our heritage of excellence in propane services is fueled by the expertise and passion of our founder, Don Strachan. Don is the son of the late Neville Strachan – a first generation gas man. Growing up with the influence of is father, he was able to get exposed to the industry from a young age.

Following his father’s footsteps. Don became a second-generation gas expert. Don’s journey began as an apprentice in 1995, he was following the leadership and guidance of the late Mr. Ruel Storr. Strachan’s apprenticeship provided him with rigorous experiences and gaining invaluable knowledge with industry leaders. In 1997 he was able to join the team at Shell Bahamas. He was able to execute propane service calls, inspect the gas tanks, fill the propane gas tanks and other driving duties. At Shell he was certified for a number of industry areas including a certification as a lead Jettyman.

In 2002, Don joined the team at FOCOL as a LP gas technician.

In 2010, Mr. Strachan started into his entrepreneurial journey. He founded Pyramid Propane System Services. Initial services were installations and repairs. Propane ranges, water heaters, and other appliances.

In 2018, Northern Propane Services was launched. This company still with Don as the main gas man on board but more emphasis on expanding to more propane related markets including: appliances, parts, tools, equipment and gas sales.

Over years, Don has cultivated Northern Propane Services into a beacon of reliability and expertise in the propane industry. With a commitment to quality, safety, and customer satisfaction, we’re proud to serve our community, guided by the legacy and forward-thinking vision of Don Strachan.
